Teachers, book your field trip now at Dewberry Farm where fun and learning go hand in hand. Students will mix hands-on agricultural learning experiences with good down home farm fun!
"Cows and Bees"
On several days during Spring Field Trips the Southwest Dairy Association's Mobile Classroom will have milking demonstrations at the Farm. Also, on some days, the Dewberry Farm beekeepers, Terry and Martha Miller, will have a live bee hive at the Farm for a lesson on honey bees and honey production. Please email or call the Farm for schedules.
Wagon Rides Around the Farm
Your field trip will include a wagon ride around the farm to see all the Spring time activities going on at Dewberry Farm.
The Cackle Palace: Sing it to me, Ladies!
Learn the difference between chickens and roosters and why some eggs are brown, some are white, and some have polka dots. Also, learn different names for chickens: hens, roosters, pullets, cocks, etc.
Dewberry Farm's Barnyard Babies
In 2007, our barnyard grew by leaps and bounds. It's home to baby chickens (chicks), baby rabbits (kits) and baby goats (kids).
Students have the opportunity to feed goats and visit with other animals in the barnyard, like a miniature donkey, guineas, and turkeys.
