October is National Bullying
Prevention Month and
Spookley the Square Pumpkin is
the “Official Spokes-Pumpkin” for Bullying Prevention!
Spookley is working with
PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center
and family farms across the country
to spread the word that
hurting people’s feelings
is a bad thing to do!
As a member of The Spookley Farm Program, there are many ways for you to support National Bullying Prevention Month, including:
- Sharing Spookley’s story with your visitors – through storytime readings, movie screenings, stage shows, etc. – to promote tolerance and spread the lesson “that you can’t judge a book, or a pumpkin, by its cover”
- Hosting specific events at your farm throughout October (and on Unity Day on October 9th) to raise awareness for bullying prevention.
- Using marketing materials such as press releases and public service announcements provided by Evergreen Creations, Holiday Hill Farm and PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center to generate awareness in your local communities.
Incorporating the Spookley the Square Pumpkin “Stop Bullying Before it Starts” Teacher Toolkit into your field trip activities at the farm.
